Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Truly Fueled Nutrition Counseling does not currently accept any insurance plans. However, upon payment in full, a detailed receipt (also known as a "superbill") may be issued that you can submit to your independent insurance provider for possible reimbursement. To find out if your insurance policy covers out of network medical nutrition therapy, call the 800 number on your insurance card. If you do plan to request a superbill, make sure you also ask about how to submit the bill to your insurance during this call. Please note that if you do plan to request a superbill, you will need a referral from your doctor that provides a reason for the nutrition visit. Reach out for more information on this!

WILL YOU HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?

Because everything I do is evidence-based, I practice from a weight-inclusive and Health At Every Size lens. If you ask me, I believe all health care providers should do the same. I believe that the number on the scale is the LEAST important thing about you. No matter your reasons for seeing me, we will work on nutritional strategies for improving your health and wellbeing. Truly fueling your body properly may result in changes in weight or body composition, but we focus on how you feel and other markers of health instead of what you weigh.

CAN I SEE YOU IN PERSON?

1:1 nutrition counseling is provided 100% via telehealth, however I do offer in-person group talks for your sports team, coaching staff, and in your corporate office throughout the greater Boston area!

I'M AN ATHLETE AND ALREADY BUSY WITH TRAINING AND A PACKED SCHEDULE. WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN NUTRITION COUNSELING?

Physical training, mental preparation, and proper nutrition are all critical components of getting the most out of all the time and energy you put into training. Working with a dietitian can actually save you time, help reduce injury risk, and make decisions about fueling and hydration much less stressful. As your sport, competition schedule, body and life circumstances change, so should your plan!
